We have vacancy for a results-oriented and self-motivated person for the role of DATA ENTRY OFFICER
and invite applications from qualified persons. The role reports to the Clearing & Forwarding Manager
and is located at Tema.
ROLES DEFINITION & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manage validation and generation of customs declaration and E-MDAs to ensure an efficient and
effective service is offered to customers whilst meeting the company’s performance and financial
goals. - Adhere and be familiar with ICUMS processes and documents needed to validate and generate
customs declarations. - Adhere and be familiar with Customs Procedure Codes and Harmonize Codes.
- Advise the supervisor of any non-conformances.
- Carry out work with little or no supervision.
- Perform & handle difficult situations during the ICUMS processes taking into account the company’s
anticorruption policy. - Understand and comply with all relevant company rules, agreements, policies, procedures and with
all relevant legislative requirements and codes of practice - Adhere to the Ghana Trading Hub platform.
- Able to assess the Pre-Arrival Assessment Report System (PAARS), thus generation of CCVR
and its related roles.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of a ICUMS and Certificate from G.I.F.F
- Must have at least two (2) years’ experience, with good track record.
Technical Competencies - IT Proficiency (MS Office suit and relevant software).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Good understanding of clearing process and documentation
- Good presentations skills.
- Excellent attention to details.
- Knowledge of Custom procedures.
Personal Competencies
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff
- Great people skills are necessary to collaborate with management, truck drivers, customs officer’s
office staff and other port agencies. - Ability to work well under pressure.
